Technical guide Artiach self-inflating mattresses

ARTIACH presents the latest additions to its range of Self-Inflating Mattresses from research according to our basic principle:

“Maximum Safety & Comfort, Minimum Volume & Weight”

In line with our ongoing development, we offer a highly modern product with substantial technological advances which provide more comfortable rest and, equally important, easier transport.

PURCHASING ADVICE

The self-inflating mattress is a high-technology product, whose performance depends to a large extent on its storage conditions. When you buy a self-inflating mattress, you need to know that it can withstand several months of being extremely compressed, and therefore that it will not self-inflate spontaneously. So before using it for the first time, you must inflate it and allow the foam to adjust to its shape for a few hours.

If the mattress has been recently compressed, open the valve and it will inflate by itself. Finally, adjust its comfort by regulating the pressure by mouth. This combination of compressed air and foam gives our mattresses their characteristic comfort.

GUARANTEE:

Our products are guaranteed for life against any defect in their components or manufacture. The guarantee does not include normal wear through usage or defects which, in the judgement of our After-sales Department, have been produced by inappropriate use. The After-sales Department alone will decide whether the product is to be repaired or changed. The After-sales Department will only accept products which have been sent in the necessary conditions of hygiene and cleanliness. MAINTENANCE:

When storing the mattress, keep its surface clean and dry, preferably in a well-ventilated place, with the valve open and in a vertical position. It should be cleaned with soapy water, and never use organic solvents.

PRECAUTIONS :

Special care must be taken with sharp objects that could puncture it. The mattress is designed for sleeping inside a tent or on a protective surface which avoids the effects of sharp objects. If it is inflated, protect it from rays of sunlight or from any source of intense heat which could damage it. Inside the tent, during the hot part of the day, avoid excess pressure by opening the valve.

Be careful with fire. As with most textile or plastic materials, the mattress is easily inflammable.
The mattress is designed to provide the best possible comfort. Therefore, it is not an airbed for floating on water or for withstanding children’s play. Rupture or deterioration due to these or similar circumstances are not covered by our guarantee.

USAGE:

Inflating: open the valve and spread out the mattress. It will inflate by itself, and the inflation time will depend on how long it has been in storage. Blow through the valve until it is fully inflated, then close it. The pressure can be adjusted by slightly opening the valve. Once you have the desired pressure, close it.

Deflating: open the valve. Roll up the mattress, compressing it with your hands to remove the air and then close the valve.

REPAIR:

To find a puncture, fully inflate your mattress, dampen it with soapy water and look for where the bubbles appear. Once you have found the point of air loss, carry out the repair following the instructions below.

Instructions for repair using the Artiach kit:

CONFORT-MAT, CONFORT-LITE, CONFORT-MAT-PILLOW, COMPACT-MAT, COMPACT-LITE, MICRO LITE: apply a layer of adhesive to the damaged part. Once dry, apply a second layer and another to the patch. Wait for 3 minutes and then press the two parts together firmly. It should not be inflated for at least 12 hours.

SKIN-MAT, SKIN-MICRO LITE: cut a patch to the necessary size and remove the yellow protective membrane from the patch. Stick the patch to the surface of the mattress using an iron at a temperature of 110 ºC (corresponding to the Nylon/synthetics program, one
on the scale of the iron). Carefully apply the patch, passing the iron several times over it.

Warning: never leave the iron in a fixed position on the mattress.
ONLY USE OUR REPAIR KITS FOR ALL ARTIACH® MATTRESSES.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What advantages does CHANNEL CUT FOAM have over SOLID FOAM?

Special horizontal punching which reduces weight and volume and notably increases the mattress's comfort and heat insulation.

What advantages does the ROUNDLIP valve have over conventional valves?
The ROUNDLIP system is made up of two components: a grooved closing thread and a blowing nozzle – even and smooth – which turns independently of the closing thread. The ROUNDLIP makes inflating easy in the most extreme conditions. This system is one of the aspects that have situated ARTIACH® as on of the most innovative companies in this line of products.

What does the ARTISTOP treatment provide?
The ARTISTOP texture provides a non-slip surface which fixes the sleeping-bag to the mattress, so as to avoid falling off and sleeping on the hard ground.

What advantages does the MUMMY style provide?
The foam is shaped to adjust to body size, thus eliminating volume and weight.

What is the added value of ARTISTRETCH?
It provides greater comfort. ARTISTRETCH gives under body pressure in the same way that foam does, eliminating the “hard barrier” caused by conventional fabric.
